Sex and Relationship Education

Formal sex education is given in the school during the Summer Term of Year 6.

The biological aspects of sex education form the core but significant emphasis is placed on the importance of the family, love and relationships. Seven television programmes are used to form the nucleus of the study. All follow up work is handled with sensitivity and honesty.

Parents are asked to sign a consent form before their children embark on this course of study and are given the opportunity to discuss any queries with the Class or Headteacher prior to signing.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of the sex education programme.
