Term 5

The children produced fantastic Roman projects and I thoroughly enjoyed reading their diary entries.  I think I would prefer to live in a Roman villa with underfloor heating rather than be a Roman soldier!   Thank you for supporting your children and it was great to learn that many of them had visited Lullingstone Roman Villa to gain first hand knowledge of life in a villa.

For the first four weeks weeks of this term we shall be reading a fantastic book called Krindlekrax by Philip Ridley.  It is about Ruskin, Sparkey and Elvis who live in Lizard Street.  Why is it called Lizard Street?  Read the book and find out!

Our topic this term is the Roman invasion of Britain.  Why did they invade Britain? What was life like in Roman Britain? What is their legacy?  We shall be historical detectives and find answers to all these questions.

On Tuesday 25th April, Year Three had a fabulous day out at 'The Museum of Kent Life', Maidstone.
