We had great fun in the Egyptian Exhibition today. Year Three pupils visited and learned many facts about this period in history and then relatives visited too.
Year Three pupils said, "There was a lot of hard work and neat handwriting." "I think it's really great."
"The children had made the exhibition look really lovely."
As their teacher, I can only say how proud I was of their efforts to make their exhibition informative, to be able to answer an array of questions about the topic and mostly, how they conducted themselves throughout the afternoon.
A deserved and fabulous "Well done!" from me.

We hope that your year is exciting and fun
but moreover challenging and productive!
Throughout Terms 1 and 2, we have studied two texts in depth. These were:
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, the other was Cosmic. Both were stories involving children who found themselves in different places. The first in Narnia, the second in space!
Most pleasingly, the children have written a range of work: describing settings, descriptive writing linked to emotions, persuasive letters, diary entries; plus they have developed their use of correct speech conventions. Their writing is becoming more detailed with the use of coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, varied sentence starters and including some impressive vocabulary.
In Maths, place value, fractions, decimals and percentages have been the main focus over the two terms. The children have a weekly multiplication focus and test, an arithmetic test and as often as possible, a times table challenge where they have the opportunity to challenge their own scores; thereby increasing their speed of recall with both multiplication and division.
TT Rockstars is a valuable tool for home use to develop these skills further.
On occasion, their presentation skills have been demonstrated when reading their work to their peers, presenting assemblies and researching/collating information to share in active learning sessions.
