Google Classroom for online homework and home learning
We started trailing the use of Google Classroom as online learning during lockdown. During this time we had feedback from those parents and children using it. As we move forward with the ‘new normal’ and find ways to support children when they are self-isolating or awaiting Covid results we will be using Google Classroom as a way to set work.
Children will have had a chance to practice learning how to log in within their computing sessions, before the first homework goes live on the 25th September.
Each of the children have formed their own password. If the children forget the password, this can be reset by the teacher and the child can come up with an alternative. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long. Children are encouraged to make a ‘stronger’ password with the use of letters and numbers.
During computing lessons, the children have been given a chance to practice how to access the work and then submit it.
We have produced ‘How to’ guides to show you how to log in, submit work etc. Please see the links below
Each class teacher will respond to the children’s work.
Teachers will celebrate all those that complete the work, show perseverance and accuracy.
Children will be given a small amount of work on a Friday to complete by the following Thursday.
If a child has to work from home due to self-isolating, or a bubble has to quarantine and cannot attend school, then the teacher will send the work home via Google Classroom (please see the remote learning plan).
