Welcome Back To Shears Green Junior School

A film detailed how school will look when we return in September and a guide to the different entrances and exits.

Dear Parents/carers

First of all I would like to welcome you and your child to Shears Green Junior School. I want to let you know how pleased we are to be working with you. I am very proud to be working at Shears Green Juniors, with so many hard working staff and pupils. My aim has always been to treat others the way I would like to be treated myself and I tell the children this! I also expect children to be treated with respect and in return they treat the adults around them in the same way. If we model good behaviour we get it back. I always think about my own children’s primary education and I was very happy with that, so if we can build on their experiences then I am sure we will get the balance right.

A huge reason for children’s success is not just down to their primary education but due to the educational support that they get at home as well. We can do the best job in the world whilst they are in school but if children are not supported with homework outside of school, they will never reach their full potential.

We offer the children a good all round education in class and extend it to before- and- after school clubs. Our pastoral care is excellent, with teaching assistants, listening ears, a learning mentor, a part time counsellor and a family worker within school, on top of class teachers and our Inclusion Manager.

I look forward to working with you. Enjoy your time with us at Shears Green Junior School and never be worried about asking questions – we are all here to become lifelong learners!
